David is a seasoned commercial litigator with decades of experience guiding clients through complex Colorado disputes. Since 1996, he has handled matters in state and federal courts as well as arbitration, bringing a practical understanding of what works at every stage of litigation—from initial filings through trial. David is known for listening closely to clients and aligning strategy with their business objectives, whether that leads to efficient resolution or full-scale litigation.
His practice spans the full range of business disputes that can disrupt operations or threaten enterprise value. This includes breach of fiduciary duty claims, partner and shareholder disputes, business divorce and buyouts, contract interference, and restrictive covenant and trade secret litigation. David also brings deep experience in real estate and construction matters, including land ownership and boundary disputes, easements, construction contracts, lien priority issues, foreclosures, and landlord-tenant conflicts.
David began his legal career clerking for the Honorable J. Thomas Greene of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah before joining Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago. He later returned to Colorado, where he spent 15 years at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck as an associate and partner. He then served as a co-founding partner of Chipman Glasser for 11 years. From 2022 to 2025, David and his wife led the Peru Arequipa Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
